Paramedic Mariah Franco has been promoted Lieutenant of Quality Assurance. Her history with Empress EMS dates back to December 2019, when she first joined the organization and has been a dedicated team member ever since.

Franco

Franco went on to become a paramedic in December 2023, further building her clinical skill set and reputation as a reliable, patient-focused provider. In March 2025, she stepped away to gain experience with LiveOn, but her connection to Empress remained strong, and she returned to Empress in October 2025 — bringing a broadened perspective and renewed commitment to our mission.

During her time with Empress, Mariah has consistently demonstrated strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and a genuine investment in the growth of those around her. These qualities have positioned her well for this next step in her career.

In her new role, Mariah will be posted out of the South Division, and will also work closely with our North staff to assist and support our field providers system-wide. Her cross-divisional involvement reflects the trust placed in her and the value she brings to QA operations across the organization.

“Please join us in congratulating Mariah on this exciting achievement. We are confident she will continue to make a positive impact in her new leadership role, and we look forward to seeing all she accomplishes.

Congratulations, Lt. Franco! Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence have truly earned this opportunity,” said Deputy Chief Bob Szeli in a message to employees.
