Virtual program to explore athletic emergencies

Not every bone broken during an athletic activity is just a broken bone — sometimes other health issues may be hiding behind it. That’s why it’s important for EMS providers to know what else to look for when an athletic emergency occurs.

A free, two-hour interactive webinar, “Beyond the Broken Bone: Hidden Life-Threats in Athletic Emergencies,” will be offered from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 18. The program will be held via Microsoft Teams, and attendees can earn two hours of Medical Control Continuing Medical Education (CME) Credit.

Taught by Empress Paramedic Daniel Kissinger and Medical Control Physician Dr. Jeffrey Rabrich, MD, it will explore realistic sports scenarios, challenge clinical decision-making, and connect the anatomy, pathophysiology, assessment, and treatment to what actually matters in the field.

To tune in, scan the QR code in the photo. The program will be accessible for 30 days following the program.
