The Quality Assurance and Safety Award is presented to an individual who demonstrates exceptional commitment to creating a safer environment, preventing hazards, and driving meaningful improvements for EMS personnel.

The honoree consistently exceeds expectations, serves as a role model, upholds a high level of accountability, and proactively identifies and addresses potential risks before they result in incidents which could possibly lead to injuries to all involved.

“I first met Kimberly Fagan in 2022 when I joined the QA office on light duty following a work-related injury. From the very beginning, Kimberly stood out as a dependable and highly knowledgeable resource someone everyone in the QA department could rely on,” Paramedic Steven Goodstein said. “Having worked for many years under the direction of Daryn Baia, she has built a strong foundation of skill, leadership, and professionalism.”

“Her training methods and techniques have been incredibly impactful, especially in mentoring and guiding EMT students as they develop in their careers. Her dedication, attention to detail, and commitment to academic and operational excellence have made her an invaluable asset to the Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement Safety Program here at Empress EMS,” Goodstein said.
