EMT Joel Groves has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and has been assigned to the Montefiore division as an operations supervisor.
Joel obtained his EMT certification through Code One and joined Empress EMS in September 2024. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wesleyan University, where he also served as captain of the university swim team and as a logistics supervisor for the student success center.
Since joining the Montefiore Division, Joel has quickly developed a strong understanding of operations within the FDNY 911 system. He has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, professionalism, and a willingness to support those around him. His ability to work collaboratively with the team and take initiative has made him a valued member of the division.
Joel has demonstrated the leadership qualities, professionalism, and dedication necessary to take on this new responsibility. We look forward to seeing his continued growth and the positive impact he will have on the Montefiore division.
