The Westchester REMSCO awards were held during EMS Week on May 20 at Westchester Community College in Valhalla.

Drew started out with Empress Ambulance Service as an EMS Academy student. Since then, Deputy Chief Sean O’Brien said he has demonstrated outstanding dedication, professionalism, and compassion in the field.

“His exceptional work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to mentorship make him a true asset to our team and the EMS community,” O’Brien said. “From the moment Jordan joined Empress, he has consistently excelled as an EMT, quickly becoming a role model for new employees and setting a high standard for patient care, teamwork, and professionalism.”

O’Brien also noted that his attention to each call and his steadiness and compassion in handling them enhances both the level of care provided and the overall work environment for everyone involved.

“Jordan approaches every call with unwavering dedication, treating each patient with dignity and respect, regardless of the nature of their emergency,” O’Brien said. “His ability to remain calm under pressure, combined with his compassionate bedside manner, ensures that every patient receives the highest level of care. His friendly demeanor and ever-present smile bring comfort, not only to his patients, but also to his coworkers, creating a positive and supportive work environment.

Drew’s decision to pursue paramedic training reflect his commitment to continuous learning and professional development. By taking this next step, he is furthering his ability to serve his community and advance within the EMS field.

“His drive to grow and improve exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding EMS professional and makes him a deserving candidate for EMT of the Year,” O’Brien said.
